My first step into the counselling world initially began by training in group therapy with Beat, the UK's national charity for Eating Disorders. I became a co-facilitator of the Yorkshire Centre for Eating Disorders Carer's support Group soon after. It's a pleasure to continue to be involved with such a much needed and well valued organisation.

My work with Beat was the catalyst for seeking out further training in face-to-face counselling and I have experience of working in primary schools, secondary schools and sixth from colleges as well as a crisis service. I have also worked in various GP surgeries in York for the NHS and I am currently in my seventh year of working in Private Practice, dividing my time between Leeds and London.

I have been a Media Ambassador for Beat to raise awareness of eating disorders. I have appeared on numerous news and current affairs items including: BBC Breakfast, The Victoria Derbyshire Show, ITV, BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Radio Leeds, Capital Radio and Heart FM.

Pro-recovery articles include: Good Housekeeping, The Guardian, The Evening Standard and The Yorkshire Post, among others.

I am fully committed to regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD) as part of my BACP Registered Membership.
I also hold an enhanced DBS certificate and am trained in safeguarding children and young people by Leeds City Council.
I hold a Master Practitioner Award in Eating Disorders and Obesity.
